'Samoan Language Week'
'Samoan Language Week' was an opportunity for us to celebrate the Samoan language in New Zealand, to recognise the language and culture of many of our students, to build bridges between cultures and to ensure that the language continues to be used widely in New Zealand in the future.

All Blacks v France!
Fifteen pupils from our school were chosen to attend a Rugby Test at the Westpac Stadium on a Saturday 20th June.

Darren Watson Makes Great Music!
Darren Watson is one of New Zealand's finest exponents of classic rhythm & blues and he performed for us at Miramar South School in celebration of New Zealand Music Month.
Duffy Hero Assembly
Cushla Lichtwark was our Role Model guest at this assembly. Cushla plays for the Pulse netball team in the Trans Tasman Netball Competition.
The children received 2 books each that they had chosen earlier in the term.

Deck Replacement – Grand Opening
The new deck was opened on 3 September 2009. There were speeches, cutting of ribbons and a picnic lunch.

Māori Language Week
A time for us to celebrate the Māori language in New Zealand, to distinguish and be familiar with the language and culture of many of our students.
We hope to show our students how they can contribute to the growth of the Māori language as a living language, and as a part of New Zealand's cultural landscape by developing and promoting positive attitudes to our indigenous language.

Government Book Week
Catherine Delahunty a member of parliament presented us each with a book of our choice as part of the Government's commitment to books in all New Zealand homes.
